Updated Goals

One of my favourite things to do in the fall is to go to the farmers’ markets and pick up some farm fresh goodies! I absolutely love all the colours of the beautiful fall fruits and vegetables.  Succulent apples and multicoloured root veggies are my personal favourites!  I also picked up some mums which go perfectly on my front step and last all through the season.


Over the last few weeks since my last post my weight has been creeping up, so I need to revisit the goals I set at that time and make a new commitment to them.  I still may decide to compete again next year, and even if I don’t, I do not want my weight going up any more.  I feel uncomfortable in my clothes and I don’t look and feel my best.  I have to admit that I had a lot of ups and downs over the last several months and it has been a struggle to keep my eating on track.  I have always been an emotional eater.  I have also been eating out a lot and enjoying more parties with friends and family.

But now it’s time to get back on track!!  And that doesn’t mean that I am going to be perfect.  But I am going to aim for perfection and hopefully land somewhere not too far off. 😉

My way of keeping track of my food intake is going to be IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros).  I enjoy tracking my food intake and I think that flexible dieting is a good fit for this time of year because it allows for more freedom with food choices.  I do not mind tracking my food, in fact I kind of enjoy it!  It feels good to “hit your macros”, knowing that you got in all your protein, carbs and fats for the day.  I am aiming for about 90% whole foods with a 10% window for more relaxed eating.  I do have several food sensitivities such as wheat, so I will still be avoiding those foods as much as possible, as well as sugar.  I will be posting to let my readers know how it goes!
